Comparing online fax with Traditional Fax
When you think of faxing, you probably visualize a large machine that you feed paper into, enter a phone number, and the paper is fed through the machine and pops out at your recipients machine. Traditional faxing has been around for a very long time, and works by sending a signal through the telephone connection. When you send a fax, your fax machine translates the images on the paper to a format that can be transmitted along a phone line. The receiver’s machine in turn translates the signal back to image format, and prints a copy of the original image. With this in mind, it can be quite difficult to imagine being able to send a fax online.
Traditional fax can be extremely useful, and has facilitated the ability to stay in touch and send important documents for businesses, schools, and individuals alike. Now however, you have the option to fax something online with online internet fax providers. The question is what’s the difference between the two?
Online faxing does everything that traditional faxing does, but it’s cheaper, easier, faster, and more convenient. All you need is an internet connection, and a computer, and you can start sending and receiving online faxes immediately. Faxes come in to your email, and you have the option of viewing them on your computer screen, or faxing them if you need a hard copy. Most online fax providers will offer packages that incorporate the features of traditional faxing, but before you decide to make the switch, make sure you firstly consider your options carefully. It may be that online faxing cannot replace traditional faxing for your business. There are variations in how online fax systems work, so you need to consider which type of system is best for you.
